  • A note from France: Panaginip (pa.na.ginip) - A Filipino word that means dream. There isn't a one-word Filipino translation for the word surreal but panaginip best fits my most favorite teaching experience in my whole teaching career. At 31, I had the privilege and honor of being a private homeschool teacher to a toddler from a one percent family. Everything about that season in my life felt so surreal. It remains to be my most favorite teaching job to date and one where I proved assumptions and cliches wrong. I've never met a more humble family, a more grounded group of people than during that time. I'm so grateful for that season and for the people I met then.
