Muni Muni (Silk Crepe)
A note from France: Muni-Muni (noun) múni-muni || Translated to english, this means reflection, pondering. I made this silk the day after a meeting with AFFI (Asian Foster Family Initiative) as I reflected on all that I've learned about Filipino children in the foster care system of LA County. It is a tangible reflection of all my feelings- shock, hope, a desire to help and make fellow Filipino lives better in a country that I hope they also learn to call their home.
This 100% silk crepe de chine is naturally dyed with marigolds, rusty nails, madder roots, rose petals, eucalyptus, and logwood chips. Please note that silk crepe de chine is sheer and has a subtle sheen. Hand rolled hem.
